I know, I know… I’ve been MIA. But what do you expect? I gave birth to a human being! There are so many things to blog about and to be thankful for… but I’ll start off small today. After all, it’s about the little things.
Today I am thankful for the swing that my sister’s friend’s mom gave us. I swaddled Max, put him in the swing and played classical music. He slept for 5 hours! I got to work on my music with Justin (which I haven’t gotten to do in forever), eat lunch, clean the bathroom, wash the dishes, and pump! It was so nice to have that time for myself to do what I normally can’t do when I’m alone.
YAY!

While we were looking around for bikes at Toys R Us and Babies R Us, we found a special parking spot that I could finally take advantage of! SWEEEEET!

Yesssss! Rockstar parking.

My eldest sister (I’m #3 of 5 girls in my family) has an adorable baby boy named Phoenix. She had to meet some people up in LA so she left Phoenix with us for a little while. It was funny to see my husband interact with Phoenix. It was a little window into the future. What do you think of his baby skills?

He's so good with kids.

My husband and I have been trying to figure out a way to keep me active since I’m pregnant. One of my favorite things to do with him is to go bike riding at Venice Beach on a beautiful sunny day. We thought it would be a good idea to look around for some used bikes since we go so often. It’d also be a great way to make a quick trip to the store in case he’s not home and he has the car at work. So one day, we went on a mission. We went to some bike shops in Venice (where the bikes go for over $400-500), some used bike shops (where none of the bikes looked safe to ride or were even my size), then Toys R Us, Target, and Walmart. When we got to Walmart, we found this awesome little boys’ bike for only $59.99!! Not only was the price just right, but the height was perfect for me too! We were sold on it, and even bought a cruiser bike seat for my big mommy booty so I’d be comfortable. When we were getting our receipt checked at the door, the lady asked, “Oooh, who’s birthday?!” I laughed, “Mine!!” Here’s some pictures of my little bike!

Preggo and her little boy bike!

NEXT!!

The cruiser seat we replaced the original one for... for my growing booty!

Remember the days when Thrifty’s ice cream was only 59 cents a scoop? Oh man… Seems like such a long time ago. Well, at least Thrifty ice cream is still super cheap and SUPER delicious. It’s especially good on a hot summer day. My favorite flavors are Pistacho, Mint and Chip, and Cookies and Cream. YUM. Thanks huz for the special treat!

sooooo delicious.

Today, my husband took me to one of his favorite little spots in Mar Vista — Rutts Cafe. They serve Hawaiian food. YUM. It was a gorgeous sunny day and I wanted to eat and enjoy the sun. Unfortunately, the tables outside were all leaned up against the wall and in the shade. There were some seats on the sidewalk in the sun and he said I should just go take my food there. I asked if maybe they’d move the table further out on the sidewalk. My wonderful husband looked at me like I was crazy and said just cuz I’m dining out doesn’t mean I can do whatever I wanted. I was not happy. I asked the waiter after we ordered if I could move the table out further on the sidewalk and he laughed at me like I was joking. Failure. While the food was being prepared, we sat in the chairs out in the sun. When the food came, we sat back in the shade where it was cold, but the food was delicious. I couldn’t take it anymore. I wasn’t fully enjoying my food because I was shivering. I picked up my plate and started eating out in the sunny chair area. It was fine. People do it all the time at family parties. The waiter came out laughing and asked me if I wanted to moved the table. SUCCESS! I got my way and I got my food. Needless to say, I was the happiest pregnant woman on Washington Blvd. I made my moded husband take pictures of my triumph.

Our officiating pastor incorporated Costco hot dogs into our wedding ceremony — that’s how much we love Costco food. It’s so cheap, so filling, and so delicious.
Last week, we went on our first Costco date as a married couple. It was exciting. I had to take pictures.
**Note: On this date, we felt like having pizza, instead of hot dogs.**

I just finished up my first week at the new job I got. One of the best things is that it’s so close to where we live. My incredible fiance wakes up every morning to take me to work and has started to make me a Hot Pocket or something small to eat for breakfast. We get in the car at 8:45am and get to work right before 9. It’s amazing.
Our schedules are completely opposite. I work in the day and he works til late at night. It can be hard to see each other and spend time together like we did before. Jin lets me know he’s thinking about me by sending me texts during the day that just say “sending you a love message.” It’s such a little thing, but it does everything for me. Also, this past Wednesday, he got home really late and I was asleep already. I was kinda bummed that we didn’t get to catch up after work, so to make up for it, he met me up for lunch the next day. He brought be 3 presents.
- My prenatal vitamins (individually wrapped in foil. love it.).
- My new employee packet that came in the mail with all my HR paperwork to fill out… and
- Our wedding rings that we ordered online!!
Our lunch date was super successful and to top it off, I took the bus home for the first time with no problem at all. It took me 30 min to get home and there was hardly any traffic.
Such a great week.
